The Church of Demetrius on the Blood was built on the picturesque steep bank of the Volga, the temple of the Uglich Kremlin, marks the place of the murder of Tsarevich Dimitri of Uglich.
Since 2001, the church has been a candidate for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
