Pictured is the carved marble Station of the Cross XI mounted on the bottom of a small wooden cross in the Mission of San Jose del Cabo Anuiti in Saint Joseph of the Cape in southern Baja California Sur state, Mexico. Jesus is nailed to the cross at this Station. The mission was built in 1730 by the Jesuit missionary Father Nicholas Tarmaral and the Spanish appointed official Jose Echeverria. The mission was dedicated to Saint Joseph, and was built on the site that the native pericues called Anuiti.
