Aster pekinensis (Hance) F.H. Chen is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Asteraceae and Aster genera, with long spindle shaped straight roots. The stem is upright, reaching up to 90 centimeters in height, and the lower leaves wither during the flowering period The central leaves are numerous and dense, with leaves in the form of lanceolate, oblanceolate, or rectangular shapes. The tips are blunt or gradually pointed, often with small pointed tips, and the entire margin. The upper leaves are smaller and strip-shaped Underneath all leaves are gray green, and the inflorescence has a solitary branch end arranged in a sparse umbrella like pattern.
