Pictured is a bronze sculpture by Leonard Baskin in Raoul Wallenberg Plaza on the campus of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. The figure may be a man or woman and is clearly in some sort of misery, wrapped up entirely in emotions. The clenched fist may represent anger and the raised hand a plea for mercy. It was a gift of the Ann Arbor Holocaust Memorial Foundation in 1994, as a memorial to the six million jews and other victims of the Nazi Holocaust. |
