| In the year 1271 the king Alfonso X the Wise authorizes the construction of this bridge next to the well-known dam of La Contraparada. It takes this name because it was used mainly so that the transhumant cattle that came from Castile, crossed the Segura River without problems and completed its way to Andalusian lands. |
