The Sphere is a large metallic sculpture by artist Fritz Koenig stood for three decades in the Plaza at the World Trade Center and was damaged during the 9-11-2001 terrorist attacks. It was moved from Austin J. Tobin Plaza after being recovered from the rubble of the Twin Towers and now stands in Battery Park as a memorial to those who perished in New York City |
