| The Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia, opened on 11th July 1998, houses one of the most important contexts of Etruscan civilisation, which owes its own commercial and cultural development principally to the steel and iron activity. There are a lot of tumulus tombs, this type of tomb appears in the necropolises of Populonia during the 8th century BC. The deceased, accompanied by food and rich grave goods, were buried inside the small chambers. |
