A locomotive at one of the stations on the Bluebell Line in Sussex UK. Bluebell Railway was one of the first preserved heritage lines in UK, and consequently has one of the finest collections of vintage steam locomotives and carriages, many of which come straight from British Railways. The 30541 was built in 1939 and like many other locomotives sent to Barry scrapyard in 1964, but there it escaped the cutter’s torch and was bought by preservationists in 1973 for £3,250. It was aquired by the Bluebell Railway in 1978.
