Pictured is the Visegrad Castle in Visegrad, a small town in Pest Count, Hungary. It was constructed as the first part of a new fortification system in the 1240`s to 1250`s by King Bela IV of Hungary, after the Mongol invasion destroyed an earlier castle. It was called the Upper Castle. It is open for public visits. It overlooks the Danube River. |
