| At 3,718m above sea level, Tenerife`s volcano El Teide is the highest point in Spain. Seeing as the summit is only around 14km from the sea, it is also one of the steepest coast-to-summit journeys anywhere. Entering the old crater you get the sense you are on Mars, but from the top you can look over the sea of cloud to the other Canary Islands. |
