Israeli statesman and politician Simcha Dinitz enjoys surveying an outdoor event in Jerusalem in 1987. As head of the Jewish Agency for Israel he played a significant role in facilitating one million Russian Jews and over 100,000 Ethiopian Jews emmigrating to Israel. Dinitz was a counselor to Prime Minister Golda Meir, a Member of the Knesset, and a lecturer on Israel foreign relations. He was a popular speaker and fundraiser for Israel through hs vast network of relationships in the United States. Dinitz died in Tel Aviv, Israel of a heart attack at the age of 74 on September 23, 2003.
