The principal gate for entrance in the fortress. At the top is the equestrian statue of Emperor Charles VI, whose time was built fortress. Alba Iulia is a city that serves as the seat of Alba County, located on the Mures River in the historical region of Transylvania, in the west-central part of Romania. The main historical area of the city is the Alba Carolina Fortress, very much developed by Carol VI.
