Former longtime NBA Commissioner David Stern arrives on the red carpet at One Time Warner Center for the New York premiere of the HBO Sports production of Kareem: Minority of One, on October 26, 2015, a week prior to its cable tv airing. The film highlights the career New York City's greatest ever basketball player, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. In his 3 decades helming the National Basketball Association he turned it from a modestly successful professional sports league into a multi-billion dollar global enterprise with a vast merchandising network including international broadcasting of nba games. Stern died on January 1, 2010 at the age of 77.
