Chilia Veche is a village in the northern part of Tulcea county, in the Danube Delta, on the "continental island" also called Câmpul Chiliei. It belongs to the Chilia Veche commune. It is the most populated rural settlement in the delta, with over 3500 inhabitants, being located in front of the famous Chilia Citadel (built in 1479) which belonged to Stephen the Great.
