The Balcony of the Roses in the Casina delle Civette, exceptional example of Roman Liberty style today Museum of Villa Torlonia, Rome, Italy. The narrow passage next to the Princeââ¬â¢s bedroom is decorated with a sequence of stained glass windows designed by Paolo Paschetto and created by the manufacture of Cesare Picchiarini in 1920. The composition of roses, ribbons and butterflies follow the sketches of the artist displayed in the smoking room.
The warm, bright colors of the roses, in yellow, red and orange, create a pleasant contrast
with the colder colors of the butterflies in green, purple and blue. The house of the owls, which was the residence of Prince Giovanni Torlania the younger until his death in 1938, is today part of the Museum complex of Villa Torlonia and has been designated as the Museum of Liberty Glass.
