The Blister Beetle (Lytta vesicatoria) has a strong irritating component in it's body called Cantharidin which can cause poisoning in cattle if this beetle is ingested while grazing. It has gotten the nick name of Spanish Fly and this one is feeding on the nectar and pollen of a Cotton Lavender flower (Santolina chamaecyparissus), this way contributing to the survival of the ecosystem.
