Amsterdam Light Festival 2016 From 28 November 2015 till 17 January 2016, the annual art and light festival took place at Amsterdam. The city was transformed in a city of lights with help of light artists. This year the theme was friendship. Path crossing This artwork consists of colourful, 160 meters long lines of light that stretch out over the canal from bridge to bridge. It symbolizes a story about friendship beginning to unfold. The abstract lines are like a colourful linear diagram ââ¬â every one of them has its own colour and represents a person. Lines moving towards each other are friendships growing. The lines also form figures that make up sculpture groups, representing certain stages of life. Paths Crossing is a universal story about paths that may cross, or run parallel to each other, sometimes for a short time, sometimes for life.
