The aboriginal peoples' protest against the Federal Government of Australia opposite the former parliament building in Canberra, the national capital of Australia. In the centre of the picture can be seen the half black half red flag with yellow circle flag of the aboriginal people. This is part of what has become known as the Aboriginal Tent Embassy. The writing reads sovereignty reflecting the taking of control by the white settlers of aboriginal land from 1788 and the establishment of the British colony of New South Wales.
