The Zhuhai Grand Theater is located at the southeast corner of the cultural park at the intersection of Lover's Road and Meihua Road in Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. It faces Lover's Road, Xianglu Bay to the east, and Yeli Island across the sea. On April 28, 2010, the construction of Zhuhai Grand Theatre began. Starting from New Year's Day in 2017, Zhuhai Grand Theatre was opened to the public, allowing citizens and tourists to enjoy the beauty of high art such as opera, musicals, ballet, drama, symphonies, and traditional Chinese opera.The construction site of Zhuhai Grand Theatre is reclaimed from the sea, with a total area of about 170000 square meters. It is the only grand theatre built on an island in China. The Zhuhai Opera House consists of two theaters, one large and one small, resembling two sets of "shells" in shape. During the day, it presents a semi transparent effect, while at night it is crystal clear like moonlight. The maximum height of the building is 90 meters, and the large theater can accommodate 1600 people, while the small theater can accommodate 550 people.
