Coreopsis basal (A. Dietr.) S. F. Blake, a member of the Asteraceae family, is an annual or biennial herbaceous plant in the genus Coreopsis. It is 30-60 cm tall and has leaves that are feather shaped, with lobes ranging from oval to oblong in shape. The inflorescence has a solitary branch end, and the outer bracts are nearly the same length as the inner layer. The tongue shaped flowers are yellow, with a purple brown base and a black purple color. The achene is oblong in shape and blooms from July to September. Golden Rooster Chrysanthemum is large and beautiful, and when it blooms, it stands out against the backdrop of green leaves, resembling a golden rooster standing alone and dazzling, hence its name.
