Braila is a city in Muntenia, eastern Romania and it's the country’s second largest port on the Danube. Braila was first mentioned around 1350. The old center of the city has many 19th century buildings, some of them fully restored. It was the birthplace of Iannis Xenakis, the famous French-Greek music composer and theorist.
