| Pictured is the world's largest wren statue in Huntoon Park in Topeka, Kansas. The wren sat atop radio station WREN since 1947 before being installed at its present location in 1947. It was constructed of wire mesh and concrete by an unknown artist sometime during the 1930s when the station was located in Lawrence, Kansas. It was restored and repainted by artist Buck Thomas. This local landmark was is today the property of the group Historic Topeka. |
