| Danaus chrysippus is a species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae, order Lepidoptera. The head and thorax are black with white spots The wings are orange-red, with black front and outer edges, and a black area at the end of the wings. There are four diagonal bands consisting of white spots inside, and two rows of small white dots on the outer edge The outer edge of the hindwing is black, with a row of small white spots on it, and three black spots on the end of the middle chamber The reverse side is similar to the front side, but the white spots on the outer edge are more prominent, the hindwing color is lighter, and there is a white halo around the black spot on the end of the middle chamber. |
