Val Duron is a valley in the Dolomites, in the municipality of Campitello di Fassa in the Province of Trento. Wedged between the Sassopiatto and the Catinaccio Group, the valley has an average altitude of about 2100 meters, from 1850 of the Micheluzzi Refuge ( open in both summer and winter ) to 2204 of the Duron Pass. This valley is an ideal place to find shell fossils and minerals such as dachiardite and rose quartz. Part of the valley has volcanic origins. In Val Duron, in the Do Col d'Aura area, there is a Swiss pine that is particularly interesting from a naturalistic point of view as it is centuries old. The site is also rich in interesting wildlife and an endemic place for glacial relics in danger of extinction.
