| Construction of Point Betsie Lighthouse began in 1854. It was completed in 1858 but wasn`t used until 1859. Made of Cream City Brick it was difficult to see during the day. In 1900 the tower and dwelling were painted white while the roof and parapet were painted red. The lighthouse is located near Frankfort, Michigan |
