Rhodes, the largest of Greeceââ¬â¢s Dodecanese islands, is known for its ancient ruins and remnants of its occupation by the Knights of St. John during the Crusades. The Street of the Knights Ippoton was home from the 14th century to the Knights Hospitaller who ruled Rhodes. They were divided into seven languages, according to their birthplace such as England, France, Germany, Italy, Aragon, Auvergne and Provence ââ¬â each responsible for a specific section of the fortifications, the street holds an ââ¬Ëinnââ¬â¢, or palace, for each tongue |
