Windblown Mexican Reddish Egret (Egretta rufescens) hunting in the shallow tidal waters of the Isla Blanca peninsula (narrow strip of land between Chacmuchuk Lagoon and the Caribeean) north of Punta Sam and Puerto Juarez near Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico on the Mexican Riviera. The Reddish Egret is a medium-sized, long-legged, long-necked heron with a long pointed pinkish bill with a black tip. It is distinctly larger than other co-existing members of the egret family of herons, but smaller than the great blue heron and great egret |
