| This is an Anartia jatrophae especies butterfly, from Nymphalidae family. Common name: the white peacock butterfly. Found in the southeastern United States, Central America, and throughout much of South America. We can perfectly appreciate the color pattern distribution and the characteristic three black circular spots on each wing. Observed near Petén Itzá lake banks not far from Maya Biosphere Reserve (MBR), Petén department, Guatemala. Population and distribution can be affected by climate change in the future. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
