Crape jasmine (Tabernaemontana divaricata), commonly known as pinwheel flower, East India rosebay, and Nero's crown, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to Asia. Its stem exudes milky latex when broken, whence the name milk flower comes. Its large shiny leaves are deep green. The waxy blossoms are found in small clusters on the stem tips. The single flowers have the characteristic 'pinwheel' shape also seen in other genera in the family Apocynaceae. Both single and double-flowered forms are white in color and are cultivated. The plant blooms in spring but flowers appear sporadically all year. Flowers have a pleasing fragrance.
