| Pictured is the Westerkerk Tower from a canal tour boat in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It was built in 1638 and is the pride of Amsterdam, regarded by many as the city symbol. It is the highest church tower in Amsterdam. The crown topping the spire is the Imperial Crown of Austria of Maximilian I. Just above the clock faces is the carillon and it is the only carillon in the city chiming the entire 24 hours. Below is the coat of arms of Amsterdam minus the two golden lions. |
