City Centre life is yet to return to pre-pandemic levels as West Midlands Metro Tram Number 17 makes its journey from Birmingham Centenary Square to Wolverhampton. Seen on 19 May 2021 as it leaves the tram stop at Birmingham Town Hall winding through Victoria Square and down the steep slope of Pinfold Street towards Grand Central. The Bronze Statue of Queen Victoria stands in Victoria Square behind which is Chamberlain Square where the new Paradise development is being constructed. The Tram uses battery power on this section of the route between Grand Central and the Library as overhead lines were deemed unsuitable for the architecture. |
