American band leader Lawrence Welk, who was active on radio and later television from the 1920ââ¬â¢s to the early 1980ââ¬â¢s, was born in 1903 and grew up on the Welk family farm. The family built a mud brick house in 1899 and later built this barn on this six acre state historic site in Lawrence Welk`s birthplace at Strasburg, North Dakota. |
