West Taijinel Lake has an area of 110.0km2 of chemical deposition of sandy dry salt lakes; it is 35.0km east of Dongtai Jinel Lake. The two lakes originally belonged to the same lake, but later separated into independent lakes due to the retreat of the lake.
The lake area belongs to the arid and extremely arid climate of the Qaidam Desert, with an average annual temperature of about 2.0ðC and annual precipitation less than 25mm. The lake water mainly relies on a small amount of melt water from ice and snow in summer. The density of the lake water is 1.217, the pH value is 7.7, and the salinity is 336.33g/L. It belongs to the salt lake of magnesium sulfate subtype. The contents of Li and B are 136.72 and 217.39 mg/L, respectively. There are rock salt deposits at the bottom of the lake, rich in resources.
National Highway 315 runs through the center of the lake, showing blue on one side and green on the other, which is extremely beautiful and spectacular.
