Salt and Pepper` Water Towers, are nGoole`s most prominent landmarks. The twin water towers, affectionately known as the `salt and pepper pots` by the local community.nThe red brick tower on the left, was built in 1885 and stands 43 metres tall. It was superseded in 1927 by the larger, white, ferro-concrete structure on the right which is of similar height but is almost three times bigger in diameter and has a Capacity of 750,000 gallons. The concrete tower was thought to be the biggest in Europe at the time of its construction. Both towers are Grade II listed buildings
