| The water measurer. Water striders (lat. Gerridae) ââ¬â the Hemiptera family of insects of the suborder bugs (Heteroptera). There are about 700 species. The most common species of the genus Gerris. Live on the surface of the water. With the onset of cold water striders leave the water and find refuge under the bark of old stumps in the moss. |
