| The Water of Leith path starts at Balerno, south west of Edinburgh city centre to Leith on the Firth of Forth, 12 miles (19 km). The walkway provides access to many interesting locations, like the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art and the Dean Gallery. Seen from the path is the Telford's Dean Bridge finished in 1832, the bridge pillars are hollow and unusually light for the time. |
