This is a portion of the walls that surround Old San Juan; built by Spain in order to fortify and defend the city. Build by Spain in the late 1500`s; the walls successfully repelled outside attacks like the one led by Sir Francis Drake, along with 27 ships and 2,500 men in 1595.
