Most of the stems are unbranched. The shape of the leaves is compound with 7-12 strands. The leaves dangle slightly to form a circle resembling an umbrella. Also known as the octopus tree. This plant comes from tropical rain forests and several other types of forests. Its distribution includes Australia eastern Queensland and the Northern Territory, Papua and Java. One of the places where it spreads is Mount Prau.
