Petra vulgis L. is a woody vine of the Verbenaceae family and the Blue Flower Vine genus, measuring up to 5 meters in length. Its leaves are opposite, leathery, and rough to the touch. It is elliptical or oval shaped, with a terminal and drooping raceme. Its flowers are blue purple, and it blooms from April to May. Blue vine is native to Cuba and is cultivated in the South China Botanical Garden in Guangzhou, Xiamen Botanical Garden in Fujian, and Quanzhou in China.Petra vulgis L. is a beautiful ornamental plant. Suitable for planting on trellises and walls in gardens in subtropical regions, as well as for potted and barrel fed plants in temperate regions.
