APNISANSKRITI – BACK TO VEDA AttaThe temple of Attahas, also known as Phullora Attahas, is believed to be among one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. This is the place where the lower lip of Goddess Sati was dropped. The temple is located amidst the dense forest near Nirol village in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The temple houses a 15 ft tall stone which represents the lower lip of Goddess Shakti. Here, the deity is worshiped as Goddess Phullora. Lord Bhairav, her consort is worshiped as Lord Vishwesh. Next to the main temple is a shrine of Kal Bhairav and Lord Shiva. An idol of Lord Shiva is seen sitting on a Lotus. Though the temple is not a grand structure, the marble made edifice is designed beautifully. The overall ambiance is very divine and tranquil.
