| This is a statue of the Virgin Mary and Jesus after His crucifixion. It's located in Abilene,Texas in the garden area of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The original statue was designed by Michelangelo in 1499 and the name its name is La Madonna Della Pieta,usually shortened to Pieta. Pieta means pity or compassion. |
