In 1887 grocery store owner Patrick Towle needed to think of how to use up left over corn syrup. By putting it into an easy to hold and pour bottle, and naming it in honor of his hero, Abraham Lincoln, who grew up in a log cabin, he came up with the table syrup still enjoyed on pancakes and waffles today. To celebrate Americas Bicentennial in 1976, many companies were packaging their products in Collectors Commemorative containers.
