The Village Weaver (Ploceus cucullatus), also known as the Spotted-backed Weaver or Black-headed Weaver, is a species of weaver bird found in much of sub-Saharan Africa. It has also been introduced to Hispaniola, Mauritius and RÃÂ©union.
