The Torre del Oro or the Tower of Gold is a dodecagonal military watchtower in Seville, southern Spain, in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river. King Pedro I kept treasures of gold and silver in the tower. Gold was processed at the Mint, several yards away. It is now a maritime Museum
