The western railway station in Vienna forms the starting point of the Westbahn as the terminus station. The station was on 15 December 1858 on the commissioning of the `k.k. Priv. Empress Ebeth-Bahn `solemnly opened. During World War II, the station was destroyed in a bombing raid. The new building of the Westbahnhof was opened in 1951. In 2011, the Westbahnhof was given its present appearance. |
