Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a French town in the department of Pyrenees-Atlantiques in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It is located directly on the border with Spain and is part of the French Basque Country. The town is an important place on the Way of St. James. It is the last stop on the French Via Podiensis and the starting point of the Spanish Camino Frances, which leads into the Pyrenees, over the Ibaneta Pass to Pamplona and finally to Santiago de Compostela. Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port is a medieval town with various sights.
