The Veil Nebula, also known as the Cygnus Loop, is a large supernova remnant located in the constellation Cygnus. It's the expanding remains of a massive star that exploded as a supernova approximately 8,000 years ago. The nebula is about 110 light-years across and 2,100 light-years away from Earth. Images show the nebula's delicate, draped filamentary structures, which are glowing gas and dust, remnants of the exploded star. |
