Great hall of the monumental Domus di Porta Marina in the Museum of the High Middle Age Alessandra Vaccaro in Rome, Italy. The section documents the technique of Opus Sectile and the restoration of the great decoration of the Domus di Porta Marina in Ostia, an important roman palace dating from the late antiquity fourth century A.C. It`s the only example of this type of decoration nearly completely conserved. The museum of the High Middle Age is located in the Palace of the Sciences in the EUR-zone of Rome, which was designed as the venue for the World Exhibition in 1942 which never took place however because of WW II. The museum was founded in 1967 and dedicated to the evolution of Rome and Central Italy after the end of the Roman Empire. It houses artworks dating from from the fourth to the fourteens century.
