The First Christian Church in Central Phoenix, Arizona/USA (on Seventh Avenue) was built (1973) after Frank Lloyd Wrights death following his plans to the letter. The Church Architects Guild of America has called this church one of the 10 best church buildings ever built in America. The free-standing (four-sided), 120-foot bell tower offers the optical illusion of being triangular, triangles being Wrights favorite shape. The tower, capped with a 22-foot-tall cross, has no inward supporting structure; steel detailer Frank Grossman created an alloy skeleton that supports the towers 304 tons of concrete, stone, and steel, materials specified in Wrights notes on the original design. ( More images of this church - from different perspectives - are in my portfolio (>Lloyd Wright).
