| Urban beekeeping. The days of guerilla beekeeping in the Big Apple are gone. After a ban of many years, keeping honey bees in New York City is once again legal. To illustrate this urban farming niche: beehives and their keeper, Andrew Coté, president of the New York City Beekeepers Association, on the rooftop of Bridge Cafe at the edge of the South Street Seaport district, in view of the Brooklyn Bridge and City Hall in downtown Manhattan. This photo is one in a series of six. |
